The Kindness Song was inspired by the children and families who attended the 1st annual Kindness Party at the Downingtown Library in October of 2019. My pledge of kindness was to take the words of the children and what kindness means to them, and create a song that is timeless and can be heard for years to come.

2020
This year the Downingtown Library, Crystal Murphy Music, and Katherine Hansen gathered over 25 families (that’s more than 90 people!) for a collaborative zoom kindness party. We had so much fun playing kindness bingo, learning a kindness dance, playing “The Kindness Song”, and highlighting some truly amazing people in our community who have shown kindness.

Proceeds from the first 500 downloads of The Kindness Song goes to the Downingtown Library to help fund and support day-to-day operations and programs for all ages. Call Kids Place Live on Sirius Satellite Radio and request “The Kindness Song” by Crystal Murphy. Let’s spread kindness with music!

We kicked off this year by hosting our first special event on February 17th, Random Acts of Kindness day. Everyone was invited to attend as we learned the kindness dance created by Katherine Hansen to The Kindness Song written by Crystal Murphy. We also discussed what kindness means and examples of a random act of kindness.
